The Moroccan national team defeated Burundi 5-0 on Tuesday in a friendly match played behind closed doors at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora,.
The friendly is part of the Atlas Lions’ preparations for the World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Moroccan goals were scored by Ayoub El Kaabi (59th, 63rd minutes), Toufik Bentayeb (71st minute), and Soufiane Benjdida (80th, 90th minutes).
This match allowed the national coach to assess the form of several players and test different tactical and technical options, away from media pressure and the public.
The Atlas Lions’ next friendly is scheduled against Madagascar.
Coach Mohamed Ouahbi will name his final list of players for the World Cup.
Morocco will begin their campaign on June 13 with a highly anticipated clash against Brazil, before
meeting Scotland and Haiti.
