Seychelles and Moldova have established diplomatic relations in the spirit of promoting bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of friendship, a statement from Victoria on Wednesday explained.
The establishment of diplomatic relations is founded on the principles of the UN Charter and respect for fundamental norms of international law said the statement.
Seychelles, Moldova are fellow members of the Forum of Small States and La Francophonie, the grouping of mainly French-speaking countries.
The signing of the protocol establishing ties took place in New York between the Permanent Representative of Seychelles to the UN, Vivianne Fock Tave, and Moldova’s chief diplomat at the world body Gheorghe Leucă.
