Flags have been flying at half mast across Seychelles as a mark f honour and respect for the late Pope Francis who died on Monday at the age of 88.
The Office of the President has announced several days of mourning for the pontiff who has received touching tribute from around Africa over what is described as his selfless service to the continent making him the voice of the voiceless.
He was generally seen as a friend of Africa which has 256 million Catholics, signifying 18% of the continent’s population.
The government and people of Seychelles join the rest of the global community in paying tribute to the late pontiff’s ”spiritual leadership and enduring legacy”.
