Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio is in the Kenyan capital Nairobi to attend the Africa Forward Summit which begins on Monday.
Bio was received at State House by his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto on Sunday during which the two leaders vwed to cultivate strong ties between Narobi and Freetown anchored on mutual respect, pan-Africanism and regional stability.
”Our two governments will continue working together to advance our mutual interests and the African agenda” said President Ruto on his Facebook page.
According to the Kenyan leader, the two countries have agreed to champion reforms of the international financial architecture, global governance especially at the United Nations Security Council, and climate action.
”The summit provides a suitable forum for the exchange of ideas and views on these issues” he said.
President Ruto also sought the support of Sierra Leone for Kenya’s Supreme Court judge Njoki Ndung’u as candidate for judge of the International Criminal Court.
