Benin President Romuald Wadagni begins a working and friendship visit on Tuesday that will take him to Senegal, Mali, and Guinea-Bissau.
The mission forms part of a broader diplomatic and economic tour across West Africa, focused on member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, a regional bloc sharing a common currency and a central banking institution, the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).
During the various stages of the visit, Wadagni is expected to hold talks with the highest authorities of the countries concerned.
Talks will focus on strengthening economic and trade cooperation, promoting people-to-people exchanges, and consolidating regional solidarity in the face of shared challenges.
Regional security issues will also feature prominently in the talks, against a West African backdrop marked by persistent cross-border threats.
This latest diplomatic sequence follows earlier visits in early June to Niger, Burkina Faso, Togo, and Cote d’Ivoire.
The tour underscores Benin’s commitment to strengthening political and economic dialogue with partner countries and promoting deeper integration within the West African region.
