The meeting brought together the ECGD working group and two experts from the Directorate of Strategic Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the ECOWAS Commission.
The proceedings aimed to support the adoption of the new medium-term expenditure approach and to strengthen team capacity in preparing a budget that complies with the community’s new guidelines and budgetary requirements.
Through this retreat, the ECGD seeks to reinforce its strategic and budgetary planning practices, as well as its results-based management.
The exercise also provided an opportunity to review the alignment of the centre’s programs, projects, and activities with the priorities of ECOWAS Vision 2050 and the Community’s strategic planning framework.
Participants focused on ensuring coherence between mobilised resources, expected results, and intended impacts within the context of inclusive development policies across ECOWAS member states.
This initiative is intended to help improve the centre’s planning and resource allocation for the 2027-2029 period.
