Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi announced a historic ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on Thursday morning.
The agreement, reached in Sharm El-Sheikh, officially ends two years of intense conflict in the region.
The deal is based on a peace plan initially proposed by US President Donald Trump and was facilitated through joint diplomatic efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
Officials involved hailed the agreement as a triumph of the will for peace, emphasizing that it not only halts hostilities but also opens up a path toward long-term stability, justice, and opportunities for reconstruction and reconciliation for the region’s populations.
