The Ethiopian airlines has announced a major expansion in its flight services to Lagos, Nigeria beginning from June, 2025, the Airlines said Monday on its social media platform.
The airline will increase its weekly flight from 7 to 14. This move reflects the growing demand for connectivity between the two African commercial hubs.
The additional flights aim to offer more flexible and convenient options to travelers, it said.
The move not only strengthens connectivity between East and West Africa but also aligns Ethiopian airlines’ broader strategy of boasting intra-Africa trade.
Meanwhile, Ethiopian Airlines announced a temporary suspension of its flight operations to Akanu Ibiam International Airport (ENU) in Enugu, Nigeria.
The suspension is a result of ongoing runway rehabilitation work being carried out by the airport authorities.
According to a statement released by the airline, services to Enugu are suspended until May 6, 2025.
The temporary measure is necessary to allow for the essential infrastructure work on the runway at Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
