The Malian News and Advertising Agency (AMAP) signed a bilateral memorandum of cooperation with Russia’s TASS news agency in Moscow on Monday, October 26, 2026, establishing a joint framework for content exchange, professional training, and technical capability enhancement.
The agreement was formally executed by AMAP Director-General Alassane Souleymane on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Media Forum, organized as a prelude to the third Russia-Africa Summit hosted in the Russian capital on October 28–29.
Under the terms of the accord, the two state-backed news outlets will coordinate on editorial coverage, cross-syndicate multimedia news products, and deliver continuous training programs for media personnel. The strategic partnership also focuses on sharing technical expertise to address rapid digital transformation across the media landscape, specifically regarding artificial intelligence integration and social media news dissemination. Souleymane emphasized that the alliance will significantly expand AMAP’s international news distribution networks while reinforcing broader informational and technological ties between Mali and the Russian Federation.
