Rabat and Cairo are strengthening their cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), through an
exchange between Moroccan Minister of Digital Transition Amal El Fellah and her Egyptian counterpart, Minister of Communications Amr Talaat.
The two North African nations intend to develop a regional partnership in emerging technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence.
During a video conference held on Tuesday, August 26, Egyptian Minister of Communications Amr Talaat praised the progress made by Morocco, which he described as a “regional model” in artificial intelligence. According to him, Moroccan advances contribute to promoting administrative transparency, improving public services, and
stimulating the digital economy.
For her part, her counterpart, Amal El Fellah, highlighted the dynamism of Morocco’s digital transition, driven by the High Royal Directives. She reaffirmed the kingdom’s desire to share its expertise with Egypt and explore new joint opportunities in a rapidly changing sector.
Talks also focused on the Egyptian initiative to create an Arab Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, a project that will be considered by the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States on September 1.
In this regard, Amr Talaat invited the Moroccan minister to participate in the “Everything AI World” Summit and Exhibition, the first edition of which will be held in Egypt from February 10 to 12, 2026, and will bring together decision-makers, researchers, and businesses from the Middle East and Africa.
The two officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining close and lasting coordination to support global technological transformations and harness digital innovation for sustainable development and the well-being of their peoples.
