A self-described student was referred to the Dakar Public Prosecutor’s Office following his arrest by officers from the Médina District Police Station on charges of cocaine trafficking and attempted bribery.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that the intervention was launched after receiving an anonymous tip-off regarding an active narcotics distribution network operating between the Médina and Yoff districts, specifically targeting the Diamalaye neighborhood.
Following targeted surveillance of the location, police officers raided the suspect’s residence, recovering 15 drug pellets containing a total of 205 grams of cocaine hidden inside a suitcase beneath clothing. During his subsequent transfer to the police station for processing, the suspect further compromised his legal standing by offering a financial bribe to the arresting officers in exchange for his release, leading to additional charges as judicial proceedings advance.
