In a statement to APA, Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of the American group Textron, indicated that this is the first order for this version of the Bell 412 on the African continent.
The aircraft will be used for multipurpose military and security missions.
The Tunisian air force already operates a fleet of 39 Bell helicopters, including UH-1s, 205s, and OH-58s.
Bell’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, Tim Evans, welcomed the acquisition, highlighting the reliability and versatility of the Bell 412EPX, which boasts a payload capacity of 2,443 kg.
This platform is already in service in Japan, the United States, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
