A runaway suspect accused of beating to death his daughter’s boyfriend has been taken into custody in Uganda.
The suspect identified as Herbert Musasizi was arrested on Friday in Gulu District over the murder of Martin Bukenya, 18, the district’s police disclosed.
The Ugandan police in a statement said Bukenya was beaten to death after he was found at suspect’s home in Wakiso District on Valentine’s Day.
“Security agencies have successfully arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Martin Bukenya, which occurred on February 14, 2026, at around 8 pm in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Wakiso District. The suspect was apprehended in Gulu District and has been identified as Musasizi Herbert, aged 41,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala.
Bukenya, was a student of Hillside Secondary School, Matugga and a resident of Kirinyabigo, Kawanda, Nabweru Division, Wakiso District.
“He was allegedly beaten to death by the suspect after being found in the suspect’s house with his 14-year-old daughter. The incident is reported to have occurred at the suspect’s residence in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District,” Kawala added.
Musasizi is currently in custody as investigations continue.
