Zambia’s annual inflation rate dropped to 10.9 percent in November 2025 as falling fuel prices and lower transport costs eased pressure on household budgets, according to new data released Thursday by the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats).
Acting Statistician General Sheila Mudenda said the slowdown from the October rate of 11.9 percent was driven by price reductions in non-food items such as petrol, diesel, paraffin, vehicle purchases and domestic and regional airfares.
Food inflation also edged down to 13.9 percent from 14.1 percent in October on the back of lower prices for cereals, fruits and vegetables.
Despite the annual decline, monthly inflation rose to 0.7 percent from 0.4 percent, pushed up by higher prices for beans, fish, meat and potatoes.
Non-food monthly inflation also increased slightly to 0.6 percent, influenced by imported spirits, garments and accommodation services.
