Namibia’s premier energy event will return to Windhoek for its 8th edition from 14–16 April 2026, bringing together global and local industry leaders at a pivotal moment as the country advances toward first oil production by 2029.
Organised by RichAfrica Consultancy and endorsed by the government of Namibia and the African Energy Chamber, the Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) is expected to convene senior government officials, investors, operators, service providers and civil society to shape the next phase of the country’s energy journey.
“This edition is not just another conference, it is a defining moment where we celebrate progress, confront challenges and unlock opportunities together,” RichAfrica Consultancy founder and chief executive Ndapwilapo Shimutwikeni said on Friday.
“More than a gathering of leaders, NIEC is a catalyst for collaboration, investment and innovation — strengthening the enabling environment and laying the foundations for an energy future that goes beyond first oil to deliver diversification, security, growth and shared prosperity.”
The conference will feature plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, B2B matchmaking and an interactive exhibition showcasing investment-ready projects.
It comes as Namibia’s energy sector experiences rapid growth, with recent discoveries by Rhino Resources, development plans by Galp Energia for the Mopane field and TotalEnergies targeting a final investment decision on its Venus project in 2026.
Alongside oil and gas, the country is accelerating its clean energy agenda, with green hydrogen, solar and power generation projects gaining traction.
Since its launch in 2012, NIEC has evolved into a leading platform for high-level dialogue and collaboration, attracting over 2,500 delegates from 46 countries and representing more than 1,500 companies.
The 2026 edition will also spotlight youth participation through initiatives like the Future Energy Leaders Program and an Internship Scheme.
