The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has officially awarded Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited an Approved Maintenance Organisation certification.
With this certification, Flybird joins the list of private jet companies in Nigeria that are allowed by the NCAA to perform maintenance requirements on aircraft in Nigeria.
The statement signed by Flybird CEO Ahmed Borodo and made available to journalists on Monday stated that with the new approval, Flybirds can now perform comprehensive aircraft maintenance, sourcing of spare parts, and flight crew sourcing, among others, in compliance with both national and international aviation standards.
The approval enhances the company’s ability to offer comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to its fleet as well as to third-party operators.
Commenting on the development, Borodo described the development as a strategic step for the evolution of the aviation company.
“This approval represents a strategic milestone for our company as we evolve into a full-service aviation platform. It enables us to deliver faster turnaround times, maintain higher standards, and ensure greater reliability for our clients. We appreciate the NCAA’s trust in our systems and personnel,” he said.
