The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNGL) has reinforced its commitment to media development in Nigeria with the successful completion of the NLNG Change Your Story workshop for 2026 in Lagos.
Speaking at the programme, the General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development at NLNG, Sophia Horsfall, said that the initiative formed part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen engagement with the media while promoting professional excellence in journalism.
She noted that the workshop reflects NLNG’s belief that well-informed reporting plays a vital role in shaping public understanding of key sectors such as energy, economic development, and sustainability.
Horsfall urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve the quality, depth, and credibility of their reports.
“As you head back to your various stations, I urge you to take the spirit of this workshop with you,” she said.
NLNG stated that the #NLNGChangeYourStory programme has now empowered over 400 journalists with enhanced digital communication and social media skills across its various editions, underscoring its commitment to advancing journalistic excellence and supporting the industry’s digital transformation.
The programme featured expert-led sessions and practical learning segments. Digital communication specialist Dan Mason led discussions on digital storytelling, while veteran journalist Taiwo Obe facilitated a journalism clinic.
Discussions at the event focused on how emerging media technologies can support real-time reporting, expand audience reach across borders, and deepen engagement on digital platforms.
The participants were equipped with skills in data visualisation, online verification, audience engagement, and building a strong digital presence.
According to local media reports, the workshop brought together 40 participants from diverse media organisations to examine the evolving landscape of journalism shaped by artificial intelligence and digital communication.
