The Nigerian oil giant, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) recorded an after-tax profit of N5.760 trillion (about $4.26 billion) in 2025, as crude oil and condensate production was maintained at 1.62 million barrels per day.
The NNPCL reported a total revenue of N60.517 trillion for the year, with statutory payments to government agencies and joint venture partners amounting to N14.706 trillion.
In its financial report released on Wednesday, the NNPCL did not provide comparative figures for the previous year, but it, however, noted that crude production declined slightly in December due to scheduled maintenance activities and unplanned outages.
It noted that oil and condensate production for December averaged 1.54 million barrels per day, while revenue for the month stood at N4.824 trillion, while Natural gas supply during the period exceeded 6.914 billion standard cubic feet per day.
The company also reported improvements in downstream operations with the Nigerian Refining Limited stations achieved 65 per cent availability of petrol in December, reflecting an uptick from earlier months.
The Upstream infrastructure performance remained robust, with pipeline systems recording 100 per cent availability.
On gas infrastructure, The NNPCL said that it made significant progress on key projects. Mainline welding on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline was completed in December, while pilot hole drilling advanced on the Obiafu–Obrikom gas pipeline.
The NNPCL added that all figures remain provisional, pending final reconciliation with relevant stakeholders.
