At the International Health Summit, holding from July 4 to 5, 2025, in Rabat, VISA MEDICAL, an innovative Guinean startup specializing in e-health, was officially invited by the Moroccan Ministry of Health to present its unique model for hospital digitalization without public debt, already deployed in Guinea.
This participation marks a first on the continent, as Morocco aims to accelerate the digital transformation of its healthcare system. The model proposed by VISA MEDICAL is based on a founding principle: zero government debt.
With its innovative technological and financial framework, the company has already enabled the digitalization of 19 Guinean public hospitals, without any direct financial commitment from the authorities.
More than 460,000 patients have already been treated via the secure digital platform developed by the startup, which covers numerous medical specialties (maternity, diabetology, cardiology, podiatry, ophthalmology, etc.. 1,230 healthcare professionals have been trained to use these digital tools, enabling real-time access to patients’ digitized medical records and more efficient monitoring.
In addition to improving access to care, the system generates reliable public health data that can be used at all levels – from hospitals to national decision-makers – enabling better health planning and crisis anticipation.
The economic impact is equally significant: 72 direct jobs have been created as part of this project, illustrating the potential of e-health for inclusive development. VISA MEDICAL thus combines health, innovation, digital sovereignty, and sustainable development, in an approach praised by several African and international institutions.
The company now aims for regional and continental expansion over the 2025-2028 period, and Rabat could well become a decisive step in this deployment.
The model, presented as replicable and sustainable, is attracting keen interest from Moroccan authorities, in a context of healthcare reform and the digitalization of hospital infrastructure.
This congress is an exceptional meeting, the first of this scale in Morocco, and is positioned as a key event on the global healthcare scene.
