The Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, with the participation of several players from the Ladies European Tour opens in the Moroccan capital next Friday.
Organised on the Blue Course, the competition has been part of the Ladies European Tour calendar since 2010 and is the 11th tournament which will be played over three rounds of stroke play with a cut after the first two rounds.
It brings together professional and amateur players from various countries.
The 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup will be held from May 18 to 24, 2026, concurrently with the 50th edition of the Hassan II Trophy, also scheduled at the same venue, according to the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association.
In a letter published on the website of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, the CEO of the Ladies European Tour, Tom Phillips, stated that the competition remains an important event on the international women’s golf calendar and highlighted the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course.
English player Cara Gainer, the defending champion is looking to defend her crown, which she won in 2025.
The Moroccan contingent will include seven players, including Maha Haddioui, as well as Lina
Belmati and Malak Bouraeda, who compete on the professional circuit.
Four amateur players from the national program will also complete the Moroccan representation.
According to the Ladies European Tour, the players represent 47 countries and will participate in a calendar of 30 tournaments spread across five continents.
Established in 1993, the Lalla Meryem Cup is a women’s golf tournament that has gradually become a fixture on the international golf calendar.
