Officers from Dakar’s Regional Narcotics Brigade arrested a female suspect on August 1, 2026, following the interception of an international freight shipment containing 10.60 kilograms of hashish, 193 grams of suspected cocaine powder, and 170 grams of MDMA-infused edibles.
Law enforcement launched the targeted operation after receiving intelligence regarding a suspicious parcel routed through a New York-to-Dakar consolidation service. Investigators inspected the shipment at the carrier’s warehouse, confirming the presence of illicit narcotics hidden among consumer goods.
Following the initial discovery, anti-narcotics agents executed a controlled delivery using the standard courier agent to trace the consignment directly to the recipient’s residence. The suspect, identified as the sender’s spouse, was apprehended upon taking custody of the parcel. A subsequent search of her apartment yielded corroborating physical evidence, including commercial items matching contents found within the intercepted shipment.
During police questioning, the suspect acknowledged operating as a domestic distribution link, receiving international shipments dispatched by her husband from the United States before transferring portions to a third-party contact. She remains in custody facing charges including criminal conspiracy, illegal possession, international drug trafficking, and money laundering. As judicial authorities process the seized evidence, police investigations continue to identify additional operators within the transatlantic trafficking network.
