Here are the ten African stars who stood out.
Amine Gouiri dazzled with his talent, scoring a hat-trick in Olympique de Marseille’s 4-1 victory over Brest, confirming his excellent integration into the Marseille club.
Guinean striker Sehrou Guirassy also shone for Borussia Dortmund, scoring a goal and an assist, despite a missed penalty that could jeopardise their chances.
In England, Mohamed Salah continues to rack up the stats. The Egyptian scored a decisive goal in Liverpool’s resounding 5-1 victory over Tottenham. For his part, Nicolas Jackson secured three crucial points for Chelsea by scoring the only goal of the match against Everton (1-0).
In La Liga, Nicolas Pépé stood out by providing the assist that gave Villarreal victory over Espanyol.
Ismaïla Sarr, meanwhile, was the key player for Crystal Palace, scoring two goals and providing an assist to send his team to the FA Cup final.
Cameroon’s Carlos Baleba secured Brighton’s victory against West Ham with a stoppage-time goal.
