Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Rabat on Monday aimed at the training and qualification of lawyers, legal professionals, and experts.
The agreement, signed by Moroccan Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Omani counterpart Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Saidi, establishes an institutional framework for cooperation to promote the exchange of expertise, best practices, and successful experiences between the kingdom and the Sultanate.
Part of a broader effort to strengthen the distinguished relations between the two countries, the MoU provides for consolidating cooperation through the exchange of action plans, scientific content, and training programs.
The document also covers the organisation of training sessions, conferences, symposia, and specialised workshops, as well as the drafting of annual action plans to implement the adopted commitments.
During their meeting, the two officials exchanged views on several matters of mutual interest in the judicial and legal fields.
They also reviewed prospects for developing institutional cooperation to modernise the justice system and advance professional and legal skills.
Mr. Ouahbi stated that the agreement illustrates the strength of the fraternal relations between Morocco and Oman.
He added that it reflects a shared determination to elevate judicial and legal cooperation to a higher level by investing in training, sharing expertise, and building the capacity of justice professionals.
According to the Omani minister, the MoU serves as a practical framework for expanding cooperation between the two ministries, opening new horizons for exchanging experiences, knowledge, and specialised expertise in training and qualifying lawyers, legal scholars, and experts.
