The government of Burkina Faso has initiated a comprehensive nationwide tour of agricultural regions to evaluate the 2026–2027 farming season, inspect key infrastructure projects, and address primary production challenges across the agriculture, livestock, water, and fisheries sectors.
Led by the Minister of State for Agriculture, Water, Animal Resources and Fisheries, the rural outreach initiative launched on September 14 to assess regional production conditions and align public interventions with local community needs.
The tour forms an integral part of the nation’s 2026–2028 Agricultural, Livestock, Water and Fisheries Offensive, a strategic initiative designed to accelerate domestic food production and establish national food sovereignty. During the visits across various provinces, ministerial officials are delivering direct messages from President Ibrahim Traoré urging local farmers, livestock breeders, and food processors to maintain high production levels while government agencies monitor major investments and deploy new support programs tailored to regional agricultural requirements.
