The Casablanca club appointed South African Fadlu Davids as head coach of its first team on Tuesday, September 23, as Raja sits in fourth place in the Botola Pro.
Davids succeeds Tunisian Lassaad Chabbi, who parted ways with the club after an assessment of results and team
structure at the start of the season.
The South African signed a two-year contract and was expected to begin work on the same day as his appointment.
Davids, well-known at Raja for having served as assistant coach during the 2023-2024 season, notably contributed to the club’s historic double during this period.
He was also head coach of Simba SC, leading the Tanzanian team to the Confederation Cup final last season. Raja currently sits in 4th place in the Botola Pro standings, the Moroccan professional football league created in 1956.
The club is tied on points with several other teams, including Wydad Casablanca.
