The inaugural North Africa Smart Infrastructure Summit has opened in Rabat, bringing together over 120 speakers and nearly 800 delegates to discuss sustainable and innovative infrastructure development.
Organized by Verve Management, the two-day event focuses on key areas including hospitality, sports, transportation, and real estate.
The summit, themed “Building the Foundations for a Sustainable Future,” highlights Morocco’s progress and strategies for tackling climate change. Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Public Works and Water, emphasized that infrastructure is central to the country’s ongoing transformation, particularly as it prepares to host major sporting events. He stressed the need for resilient and adaptable projects that support both economic growth and social equity.
Representing the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, the Secretary General, Zine El Abidine Britel, spoke about the importance of innovation and research. He highlighted partnerships with organizations like the Foundation for Research, Development, and Innovation in Science and Engineering (FRDISI) to implement new systems based on artificial intelligence and improve transport safety.
The discussions will focus on four strategic sectors: sports infrastructure, hotels, airports, and real estate.
